The Engineering Design Team Council recently purchased a ROKIT 3DISON H700 Professional 3D printer. This machine is intended to be used as a high-quality prototyping tool and not as a learning or experimental machine. Only officially trained student design team members (by the EDT Coordinator) are able to book and operate the printer. MakerBot Replicator 2X

The Engineering Design Team Coordinator maintains a Makerbot Replicator 2X 3D printer. This machine is intended to be used as a prototyping tool, with room for learning but no experimentation. Any member of a student design team is allowed to use the printer, given that an officially trained student design team member is supervising, or has proven to have trained the student operating the printer. Access
Access to the printers is controlled via Master Lock eLock’s and requires the use of the Master Lock Vault eLocks smartphone app to unlock. To obtain access, follow the steps below:
- Send the EDTC (team.engineering@ubc.ca) your first name, last name, student number, and email address from your official design team email account. Access is typically limited to two members per team
- Download the Master Lock Vault eLocks smartphone app
- Follow the instructions on the app to unlock the lock

Booking Process & Calendar
Please note that booking is not required to use the printers but a team that has booked is given priority.
- Check the calendar to ensure that your booking does not conflict with a previous team’s reservation.
- Fill out the booking form located here.
- Confirm that your booking shows up in the calendar.
Time Limits
- MakerBot – 5 hr limit per team per day
- Rokit – 8 hr limit per day
Please let the other teams know if you require a longer booking by posting on the EDT Slack.
