Printers in EDC 211

ROKIT 3DISON H700

The Engineering Design Team Council recently purchased a ROKIT 3DISON H700 Professional 3D printer. This machine is intended to be used as a high-quality prototyping tool and not as a learning or experimental machine. Only officially trained student design team members (by the EDT Coordinator) are able to book and operate the printer. For more information about the rules and policies for the ROKIT H700 3D printer, please refer to the EDT Handbook or direct questions to the EDT Coordinator at team.engineering@ubc.ca

MakerBot Replicator 2X

The Engineering Design Team Coordinator maintains a Makerbot Replicator 2X 3D printer. This machine is intended to be used as a prototyping tool, with room for learning but no experimentation. Any member of a student design team is allowed to use the printer, given that an officially trained student design team member is supervising, or has proven to have trained the student operating the printer. For more information about the rules and policies for the Makerbot Replicator 2X 3D printer, please refer to the EDT Handbook or direct questions to the EDT Coordinator at team.engineering@ubc.ca

Access to the printers is controlled via Master Lock eLock’s and requires the use of the Master Lock Vault eLocks smartphone app to unlock. To obtain access, follow the steps below:

  1. Send the EDTC (team.engineering@ubc.ca) your first name, last name, student number, and email address from your official design team email account. Access is typically limited to two members per team
  2. Download the Master Lock Vault eLocks smartphone app
  3. Follow the instructions on the app to unlock the lock

If you need access to the room (EDC 211) where the printers are located, please see Space Access.

  3. Confirm that your booking shows up in the calendar.
