EDC 101A - Ledcor Group Composites room:

Located in the EDC competition space (EDC 101), the Composites Room is available for team use for activities including composites layup and sanding. The room maintains a negative pressure environment to prevent fumes from escaping to the Team Bays. The Composites Room is also equipped with a flammables cabinet, for the storage of combustible and otherwise hazardous materials. Teams should use this cabinet to store hazardous fluids such as gasoline, resins, and paint thinners.

Rules:

  • May be used for composites layup and sanding. NO spark-generating activities or sources of ignition allowed.
  • New users must first complete a Safety Orientation of the space and Respirator Fit Training.
  • The space must be clean and empty at the end of each use.
  • Failure to follow these rules may lead to temporary or permanent loss of access privileges to the room.
  • Teams must book the room before using the space.
